Ramirez Family: Newborn

For those who don’t know, I only moonlight as a photographer. By day, I work in a classroom tutoring high school students and grading their homework. The teacher I work for, Michelle, happened to be out recently on extended leave, for the very best of reasons- she and her husband added a new kiddo to the family! Chris and I had the great pleasure of photographing the celebration of this little guy’s first month as the new kid in town, and we couldn’t leave without  getting in a couple shots of goofy big brother showing off for us in the backyard either. What’s the deal with the red shovel, you ask? Well, for big brother’s turn in front of the camera, we asked him to find something in the yard that he wanted to be in the picture with him. We were thinking his bike, a baseball- something meaningful. But the red shovel was the winner, reminding us once again that five year olds don’t necessarily think like us sometimes. ;)
